Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs is an upgraded model of the older Mark III model. It has a launch selling price of $599.99 in the US and comes with a 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 IIR Kit Lens along with the package. It is now available to pre-order online on Amazon.com ( check here for the current lowest price ).
Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs is available to purchase in two different colors – Black and Silver. If you look at the spec sheet of this new camera, you can find this model has the same exact specs as the older model launched a while ago. There are 2 differences though.
The first new thing in this new model is it now supports silent shooting. This can come in handy when you are out taking street photographs which people often do with small compact cameras like this. Another new feature of the new model is an Instant Film art filter mode.
Like the older model, this has a 16MP CMOS Micro-four-thirds sensor with 200-25600 ISO support. Like many other Olympus cameras, this too has 5-axis Image stabilization built-in ( IBIS ) which would let you use a faster shutter speed and lower ISO during low light scenarios. This camera supports 4K @ 30fps video recording.
You can shoot raw as well as jpeg shots. The maximum shutter speed supported is 1/4000 sec. In the Electronic shutter mode, you can have a higher 1/16000 sec shutter speed as well. It comes with a wide range of scene modes like Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Sports, Fireworks, Backlight HDR, Nature Macro, etc. It supports 8.6 fps continuous bursts to take quick action shots. For AF, this sensor has a 121-point contrast-detection autofocus system.
From the Manufacturer: The Olympus E-M10 mark IIIs has been specially designed for people who love photography and need the perfect system to get started. The E-M10 mark III is small and lightweight so it’s convenient to take everywhere. The new intuitive touch screen interface and shortcut button make camera settings easy. Touch AF lets you instantly focus and trip the shutter with one touch of your subject on the tilting screen. And with foolproof in-body image stabilization, you’ll easily shoot blur-free stills and smooth 4K video, all handheld, no tripod or other stabilizing gear needed. Start your photographic journey with the E-M10 mark IIIs.
