Apple has announced a few new products during the Apple Event held on March 8th, 2022. The Apple ‘Peek Performance’ Spring 2022 event has brought new iPhones, old iPhones in new colors, an updated iPad Air model, a beefed-up Mac Mini, and an all-new M1 Ultra desktop processor.
Apple’s iPhone SE 2022 model comes with a 4.7-inch display and is powered by the A15 Bionic chipset, which also powered their iPhone 13 series of smartphones. So performance-wise, you are getting the best out there. This 3rd generation iPhone SE, like its predecessors, has just a single camera at the back. In the US, this has a launch price tag of $429. It will ship to customers from March 18th onwards.
Apple’s Mac Studio Desktop is a beefed-up Mac Mini in disguise. You can buy these with either the M1 Max chip or the just-announced M1 Ultra chip to get a powerful desktop at your disposal. This is clearly aimed at creative professionals. You get features like Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5 etc.
According to Apple, the new M1 Ultra chip is eight times faster than their first-gen M1 chip, which is ridiculously fast. It has a 20-core CPU and a 64-core GPU setup. There is also a 48-core GPU variant. Out of the 20 cores, 16 are performance cores.
Apple’s Studio Display is another product you would be interested to get on to your next-gen desktop. This is a 27 inch 5K resolution screen that costs $1,599.
Apple is bringing 2022 iPad Air models with M1 chip on board, offering much better performance. The Wifi only model costs $599 while the WiFi+Cellular has a launch price of $749.
As is the norm, you are getting some older Apple iPhones in a new color. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro models will be available to purchase in an Alpine Green color. You will able to pre-order this in a couple of days from Apple Store, Amazon US etc.
