Canon RF 600mm F4 and RF400mm F2.8 lenses are made for EOS R Series mirrorless cameras like Canon R5, R6, etc. These lenses are optically the same as the EF mount versions. Looks like Canon didn’t want to redesign a lens from the ground up for a mirrorless mount to save money, as well as time, especially when Sony is launching new lenses every month. Also, those EF-mount lenses are excellent lenses to copy.
Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM lens has a max aperture of F2.8, offering that dreamy background blur and faster shutter speeds in low light. This lens has 3 Image Stabilisation modes and offers up to 5.5 stops. It uses Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to suppress ghosting and has one Super UD Lens to minimize color fringing. Canon has also included 2 Fluorite Lenses to cut down on chromatic aberrations. The min focus distance of this lens is 2.5m.
Canon RF 600mm f4L IS USM lens has the same Super UD, ASC coating, and Fluorine lenses and offers up to 5.5 stops with three IS Modes. The minimum focus distance of this lens is 4.2m. Both these lenses are compatible with the Canon Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x to get even more reach and framing possibilities.
